The start of a new month is always exciting, full of inspiration and endless possibilities. October is finally here and so far it’s looking like a busy month for me! I’ve been juggling school, a new job, blogging, and as some other fun new things too. It’s definitely been a season of change, but I am looking forward to new opportunities and experiences to come in this next month and end of the year. I am so blessed to have all the things I do in my life, and am always thankful for God’s wisdom and guidance as well as the amazing people that have been supporting me along my journey. Weekly Recap: Style Week OC 2014

Who needs NYFW when you have Style Week OC? Every year in September Orange County has fashion shows at Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum Center showcasing the latest fall fashions and FIDM designers. These last two weekends I have been working backstage, experiencing the craziness, and getting super excited for fall!

Last week the first two shows were at Fashion Island. There were in-store events for the participating brands in the fashion show earlier, and then on Saturday night FIDM had their benefit show.

The first show at the Spectrum featured different brands from around the shopping center. During the second show Saturday night, Nick Verreos from Project Runway and Under the Gunn showed off his new Nikolaki collection and four FIDM designers were featured in the Celebrity Cruises design competition.

Cropped + Plaid in Pasadena

Good morning loves! Seeing One Direction last week was so much fun, I just wanted to share a few more pictures with you all of what Ema and I wore to the concert. We both opted for crop tops and skater skirts because it was just too hot to wear anything else! (She let me borrow her plaid skirt because as usual, I couldn’t find anything to wear.) DSC_0087 DSC_0048DSC_0050DSC_0054DSC_0076DSC_0070DSC_0056DSC_0085

One Direction Where We Are Tour

During my junior year of high school, I became a Zayn girl. After my best friend Ema introduced me to One Direction and their What Makes You Beautiful music video, I fell in love with these adorable British boys that have become a worldwide sensation. I have been to every single one of their concerts and I may or may not have a shirt with Zayn’s face on it and a lifesize cardboard cutout… Anyways, Thursday night was the first of One Direction’s three-night performances at the Rose Bowl in Pasedena, which Ema and I *FINALLY* were able to get floor seats for!

5S0S opened up the show and then the 1D boys performed all the songs off their Midnight Memories album and a few off their older albums. We both had an absolutely incredible time at the concert- One Direction always puts on an amazing show! (See more about what we wore here.)

Who else went to the One Direction Where We Are Tour? How was your experience?

Birthday on the Beach

Hi everyone, hope you all are having a great Labor Day weekend! School started last week for me so I’ve been pretty busy getting adjusted to my new school schedule, but I made sure to make time for a little bit of fun. On Friday night I celebrated my 19th birthday at Spark Woodfire Grill in Downtown Huntington Beach. I just wanted to share a few snaps of the dinner, beach, and of course the amazing ice cream cake! 😉

OC Fair Adventures ft. Karmin + Fifth Harmony

Happy Monday, loves! Hope you all had an amazing weekend. This last Friday night I went to the Orange County Fair with my friend Erica. Here’s some snaps from my Instagram and a few more unseen ones from my iPhone 🙂

We originally went to see Fifth Harmony in concert and we both didn’t even realize Karmin was actually headlining. After looking them up online, I recognized a few of their songs such as “Brokenhearted,” “Hello,” and “Acapella” and we decided to watch their performance too. We had so much fun at the concert/fair and found a great new band. You can check out more of Karmin’s music on their YouTube channel!

4th of July at the Happiest Place on Earth

Hope everyone had a great Independence day! I spent my day relaxing by the pool and BBQing with my friend Ema, then headed off to Downtown Disney with my family for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and watching the iconic Disney fireworks.

(It was even more spectacular in person.) We camped out right in front of Downtown Disney outside Rainforest Cafe and got a front row seat to see the fireworks. It was the perfect end to a fun and relaxing day. What did you do yesterday? Let me know in the comments below!

Packing for Warped Tour 2014

Spring and summer are the key times for festival season- there’s Coachella, Stagecoach, Bonnaroo, and Warped Tour just to name a few. Vans Warped Tour is unique in the fact that it lasts for over a month, with the bands traveling to locations all across the U.S. on tour buses to perform. This was my fourth time going to Warped- my first time was during my sophomore year in high school in Ventura, and then last year I bought the two day pass in Pomona. There are usually a lot of scene and screamo bands, but there’s also some more pop-punk and indie music there- for example, this year the bands The Summer Set, Echosmith, The Maine, We the Kings, All Time Low, Cute is What We Aim For, The Ready Set, and Breathe Carolina were all performing.

When packing for music festivals, the first things to put on the top of your list are bottled water and sunscreen. It’s important to stay cool, hydrated, and protected from the sun (usually it will be very hot!) So I decided to make a list of all the things I packed in my very own sparkly backpack (similar)…

DSC_0851

What’s in my bag:

30 SPF Sunscreen | Secret Summerberry Antiperspirant EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm }

Coach Poppy Rollerball | Target sunglasses | Clean & Clear Oil-Absorbing Sheets }

{ Bottled water | Ice Breaker Mints | Wallet | Icing Monopoly phone case }

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you plan on buying merch, you’ll need to pack light and keep some extra space in your bag for CDs, T-shirts, posters, etc. Also, no one wants to carry around an extremely heavy bag all day long.

Be sure to check out my newest blog post on TNT Tauna of my Warped 2014 Trend Report… Now here’s some more pictures I snapped throughout the day!

Blogging with @TNT_Tauna

dynamite-editorials3Recently I began working on a new project with TNT Tauna from Dynamite Editorials. She runs her own fashion editorial company and produces her own photo shoots with other bloggers, wardrobe stylists, models, photographers, hair stylists, and make up artists. They have already been published many times in various local and online magazines.
Hollywood-Weekly Bridget-Marie Stylist_handbook_ISSUE-4_FULL-VERSION_DEVON62Beyond-Bold-Avant-GardeModel-Life-MagSiren-Avant-GardeThis is just one of the reasons why I was completely thrilled when I found out I could also be a part of the production. Right now we are working on a vintage shoot for Mint Salon at the end of the month, which I am incredibly excited to be styling for! We are in the process of contacting designers for clothing, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. Accessories are obviously totally up my alley and are a part of what I will be blogging about on her website.

Please check out my first blog post by clicking on the link here and be sure to check back every other week for my posts!
